The Traditional Wedding
A traditional Romanian wedding: the wedding flag with its fir sprig, carnations, ribbons and bell, its cloth billowing and its fringe swinging, embroidered sleeves down both edges, two wedding candles flickering beside the countdown, photographs in wooden frames hung on a nail with a towel draped over them, a ribbon of little fir trees sewn down the page as you scroll, bread and salt with the braided colac on its board, the family album, a dowry chest whose lid lifts for the RSVP and a hora going round at the foot of the page.
